Campaign Planning Workshop

June 24 - 25, 2019

(Optional: June 26 - Individual Campaign Plan Coaching Session)

Baker Wetlands Discovery Center1365 N 1250 Rd. Lawrence, KS

Is your organization trying to make progress on a climate-related initiative or strategic priority?

Campaign planning helps us define the boundaries of our work and efficiently allocate resources to both build power and win. And while it would be nice if good campaigns wrote themselves, loads of resources exist to support our organizations through this process!

Climate + Energy Project, in partnership with our good friends at the Climate Advocacy Lab, is thrilled to offer a 2-day Campaign Planning Workshop* (with an option on Day 3 for individual coaching) for the climate-related advocacy community in Kansas. The Climate Advocacy Lab has spent the past 4 years synthesizing insights, learnings, and best practices from across the community to help organizations build grassroots power and win through evidence-based advocacy.

This is an opportunity to:

· Workshop and refine a current campaign plan, using key insights and best practices from the Lab's arsenal of resources and tools.

· Challenge the assumptions you make about campaign planning, and learn new approaches and tactics informed by the latest research and field tests.

· Practice factoring social equity considerations into the front-end of campaign planning, not just as an add-on.

· Learn from and share with your advocacy peers and thought partners, building deeper cross-organizational connections and learning from others' innovations in the field.

· Have a LOT of fun learning to work smarter, not harder, for a stable climate and an ecologically vibrant world!

Plan to come prepared with a Campaign Plan to develop and tweak during the workshop. It could be for an upcoming election or legislative session, or it could simply be an initiative your organization is prioritizing for the remainder of 2019 and into 2020. Upon registration, we will provide you a basic template to help put your plan (no matter how rough) on paper.

Want to learn more about Climate Advocacy Lab? Join CEP Live on May 14 at 2:00 pm for a conversation with Carina Barnett-Loro, the Lab's Senior Program Manager. We'll talk about what the Climate Advocacy Lab does, how they do their work, and a bit about the upcoming campaign planning workshop. If you can't join us today, the CEP Live interview will be available online for your review.

*Notes:

Please attend with 1-2 other individuals from your organization - these workshops are most effective when you can work together on a plan the entire organization will implement.
