Merriam Students Hunt for Energy Vampires

To win the Take Charge Challenge, the city of Merriam has enlisted their two elementary schools - Crestview and Merriam Park.

Students at both schools searched high and low in their homes to identify "energy vampires" - those appliances that continue to suck energy and drain wallets - even when they're off or in standby mode.  They found energy vampires such as cell phone chargers, stereos, computers, and video game systems throughout their homes.  Using powerstrips, these savvy students were able to slay the vampires!

Here's a clip of Crestview Elementary's winning class on WDAF-TV4.
