All Dressed Up and Ready To Go
We’re finally ready – the Climate and Energy Project (CEP) has just launched its new website, www.climateandenergy.org.

If you live in the Midwest and you are curious about climate change, renewable energy, and how to use energy wisely, this site will meet all your needs. Come explore the major issues of climate and energy, learn more about the facts, and discover how you can make a significant difference.

Beta viewers have appreciated how simple and straightforward the site is to use.

“Sometimes the news makes it seems like climate change is too overwhelming to even deal with,” one tester commented. “I think I’m reasonably smart, but still I never quite got how all the connections worked. This site, though, broke it all down in terms normal people can understand.”

CEP Research Director Maril Hazlett said that the site has a little something for everyone.

“Journalists, policymakers, farmers, businesspeople, congregations, member of the general public – those are the main communities that we seek to serve,” she said. “We all share the common need to learn more about how climate change is affecting our environment, and what steps we can take to head off the worst of its effects.”

Hazlett also said that the site would continue evolving in response to user feedback. “Our job is to get information to folks who want and need it. User satisfaction is critical. We care very much about serving the public good.”

Digital Evolution Group of Overland Park carried out the site design.

CEP is a project of the Land Institute, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Salina, KS.

Are you a crazy driver? Speeding, accelerating quickly, and heavy braking can cut your mileage up to 33 percent. At today’s high gas prices, that’s more than an extra 73 cents per gallon.
