Grid-Tied

When you set up a source of power generation at your home or business, such as solar or wind, you have the option of being tied to the grid, or of being off-grid.

When your system is grid-tied, you retain the ability to buy energy from the grid when your own generation source is not working (ie, the sun in not shining and/or the wind is not blowing).
